Since its mid-cycle refresh in 2012, the VW Tiguan hasn’t recieved any significant updates. For 2017, it is still a good looking vehicle with a very comfortable ride. All models are powered by a 200-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder. Standard safety equipment across the model line includes ABS, traction control, front and side airbags, side curtains and tire pressure monitoring system. This trim gets its name and special designation from the original Volkswagen manufacturing facility in Wolfsburg, Germany and each model released carries the signature Wolfsburg badge. It features sleek looking 17″ Novara alloy wheels with all-season tires.
A few of the things that I like:
- Engine has enough horsepower to do everything you need it to do with little effort.
- Very smooth acceloration and shift points.
- Wolfsburg edition has 4Motion all wheel drive as standard equipment.
- Interior is well laid out. It looks clean and simple and is very use friendly.
- I would spend the $1450 to get the available panoramic sunroof that extends all the way to the second row of passengers. It brightens up the cabin and makes if feel more spacious.
A few of the things I don’t like:
- Compared to other vehicles in this class, the interior styling could use a bit more
of an updated look. - Other compact crossovers have more interior space.
Other compact cross overs I would consider would be the Mazda CX-5, Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.
