I hate anxiety. Everyone will experience anxiety from time to time. It is a normal human emotion. Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress. In some situations, it can be a good thing. Anxiety motivates you to do more or it can warn you when you’re in a dangerous situation. It informs you to sit up and take notice of what is going on around you — it puts you into fight or flee. The issue with anxiety is that sometimes our brain ‘thinks’ we are in a dangerous situation when the reality is something different. Our thoughts of what ‘might’ happen or what things ‘could’ be become so real in our minds that the feeling of fear becomes very real to us. Here I share my experiences and three things that have helped me combat my anxiety. If you are looking for a great resource to help with your anxiety, check out The Anxiety Centre
I have realized the older I’m getting more anxiety I have and the more stressed out I get, even over the little things. I love Lacey’s Podcast on Help for Anxiety! The point that she stressed was to Breathe. How many times do I hold my breath, not realizing it? A very simple action, but how we forget to do it and how it really does affect us physically and mentally. Thanks, Lacey for bringing Just Breathe to our attention. May we take heed and take deep breaths when we’re feeling anxiety in our lives.
Thanks for this comment!! Watch your dogs when they sleep… their fat little bellies fill with air when they inhale. We need to breath more like dogs!
