Don’t wish that you were fearless, instead, work on being a little bit braver.
Or you could say, “Don’t wish your problems were smaller, wish that you are bigger than they are”. We grow up telling our kids, “don’t be afraid!” therefore, teaching them that fear is bad. The truth, however, is quite the opposite. Fear is normal. It is part of being human. So the key to being brave isn’t to be fearless – it is to learn to fear things just a little bit less.
Maybe the book ‘Fearless Vs Fear Less’ will explain this a bit better. BUY THE BOOK HERE FROM AMAZON Malia faced her fears and drove across the United States all by herself in a Winnebago. Back in 2001, when they didn’t have smartphones, or GPS she managed to navigate her way through her fear to live her best life possible.
In order to be brave, you just have to learn to push through.
What would you do if you had no fear? Malia, the author, had always dreamed of traveling. In 2001 she began her courageous new life in a Winnebago motorhome. This is a story of facing fears, fulfilling dreams, and claiming God’s gift of freedom that abides in the human spirit. And it’s the story of adventure, excitement, and discovery – and triumph over fear – as told in the closing chapter of Malia’s own life.
It has not been easy, but I have learned to feel the fear and do it anyways.
Books like this one always make a dent in my heart and leave a mark on my brain. Knowing that someone else has taken a chance despite being afraid makes me think I can do it too!
I will leave you with one last thought about fear and freedom. This is a passage from another post I wrote titled Fear Removes Freedom Understand that the secret to happiness is freedom. And know in your heart that the secret to freedom is courage. If we are not allowed the basic freedoms in our life; we will never be truly happy. Things like freedom of speech, religion, assembly and the press. When are afraid, we don’t take action.
