Has the world you know it changed drastically over the last 12 months? As I write this, it is officially the one year anniversary of “2 weeks” to flatten the curve. Nothing is the same for me. I miss shaking hands with strangers and it breaks my heart that I can’t even look someone in the face and smile.

The biggest adjustment for me since the pandemic has been how I make money. It was this shift in thinking that pushed me to seriously consider direct sales.

In todays economy, you need to consider direct sales.

Some people had a J.O.B. (Just over broke). If you haven’t heard of this idea before, it was made famous in the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. A J.O.B describes the truth that most workers live within their means; they work to pay the bills. With very little left over after payday or when they are ready for retirement. Living a life and working a job keeps us just above the poverty line. Having a job for most of the Gen Xers feels safe. It was what they were told you to do: Go to school, get a job, work till you retire and hope that you have enough health and wealth that you can enjoy your final years of life.

Coronavirus destroyed what most people think about work, connection, jobs and making money.

Nothing in this world is secure. Even that great paying stable job that you had for the last 10+ years. We know now that it too can go bankrupt if the economy crashes. Having a second stream of income is needed now more than ever. You need to consider direct sales if you want to create a stream of income that offers you more control of your financial situation.

Another reason to consider direct sales? 89% percent of direct sellers decide to work on a part-time basis. This gives busy parents, caregivers, and others more flexibility and work-life balance

If I haven’t encouraged you, here are some fabulous quotes from well known motivational speakers. I believe that direct sales and network marketing will be the way of the future.

Jim Rohn is well known for saying “Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.” WHen it comes to direct sales, he says. “Network marketing is the big wave of the future. It’s taking the place of franchising, which now requires too much capital for the average person.”

Robert Kiyosaki also known as Rich Dad says that, “Direct sales offers the education my rich dad taught: build your own network rather than working for a network.”

This is one of my personal favorites from Art Jonak, “Direct Selling is one of the few places where women earn dollar for dollar what men earn.”
