It makes me laugh that this is the current state of our planet. I feel like yelling to the world I AM NOT AGAINST VACCINES! Because I am hesitant to get this BRAND NEW vaccine suddenly I get pegged with one of the worst insults for 2021 ‘You are an anit-vaxer!’ I think this supposed to be the second worst insult after ‘anit-masker’
There are people in the world right now who are saying these things to me as if I am a murder. Ah… but wait… according to the majority of people, that is what I am. That is how the media is portraying people like me. Because I get extreme anxiety when I wear my mask and have to take ativan; I am killing grandma. Because I am not jumping on the vaccine bandwagon so quickly, I am being selfish.
And by people like me, I mean people who have different thoughts or opinions about what is currently going on in the world with the coronavirus. People like me who are not comfortable getting injected with something that has NOT been approved by the FDA, has NO LONG TERM DATA and this mRNA vaccine is a NEW TYPE OF VACCINE.
I am not against vaccines – I am not even against the COVID-19 vaccine. I just want more time to get more information and be able to make an informed decision.
What is so wrong with that? Why does my hesitation cause so much anger, hate and judgement? I was vaccinated as a baby. Growing up in Canada, parents had the freedom of choice. And my parents exercised that freedom by making the decision to get me and my sister vaccinated. As a young adult, I did a lot of traveling. I am not against vaccines, I got several when I traveled to Africa and Egypt. But it was my choice. What makes this vaccine any different? Why suddenly, a virus with over a 99% survival rate, am I and so many others going to be pressured to get this one?
The so called conspiracy theorists keep tossing out comments like, “I will not be forced to take this vaccine.” And then the people who are buying into what the media has told them reply with, ‘You won’t be forced!” So lets get technical or a moment, I am going to agree, no one will be “forced” to get this unapproved vaccine. But, it is already set in motion that unvaccinated people will not be allowed to do certain things.
If unvaccinated people won’t be allowed to go to grocery stores or get jobs; what choice do they have to live?
Don’t take my word for it. If you are on the fence about what you should do, look into the information yourself. Don’t listen to what the media, celebrities and influencers are telling you to do. And heaven for bid! Don’t listen to someone like me who has been described as being against vaccines!! Go to the CDC website. Read the information for yourself.
-The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is an unapproved vaccine that may prevent COVID-19. There is no FDA-approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is a vaccine and may prevent you from getting COVID-19. The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine may not protect everyone. The duration of protection against COVID-19 is currently unknown. Serious and unexpected side effects may occur. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is still being studied in clinical trials.
In clinical trials, approximately 20,000 individuals 16 years of age and older have received at least 1 dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
For me, getting injected with something new and with no long term test results, clinical trials seem a very important part of my questions. Approximately 20,000 people. What does that mean? There is no literal translation for this. Aren’t clinical trials science and fact based? The people running the trials have to know how many people were involved, so why not be transparent? Approximately has its roots in the Latin word proximus, meaning “nearly.” So, approximately means “about” or “close to.” Does that mean, 20,150, 17,000 or even 19,850?
Look at that sentence again: approximately 20,000 individuals 16 years of age and older have received at least 1 dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. Approx 20,000 people got at least one dose. How do you read this? Because to me, I read it that about 20,000 people got at least one dose. So they are basing the outcome of this clinical trial on just one dose, why do we need 2?
Everything I know about the vaccine is that it requires 2 doses before you are fully vaccinated.
I don’t know the answers. All I have been doing the last 13 months is ask questions because so much of this doesn’t make sense to me. Getting vaccinated means getting injected with stuff that I honestly don’t know what it does to the body. I have put my trust in doctors and science my whole life, but it was always my choice.
On a personal note. I had a brain tumour a few years ago. They removed a golf ball sized tumour from my frontal lobe. Meningiomas are not cancer (THANK GOD!) but they are the most common tumour found in the head. They are much more prevalent in women and doctors have been drawing a link to hormones and more specifically, birth control. I started to take the pill when I was 16 – this is very common for women of my generation. So now what do we do if doctors discover that the drugs they had been prescribing are causing brain tumours?
It is not that I am against vaccines or don’t believe in science. I am aware of some of the mistakes made in the past. How about themalidhide and flipper babies? It is important to note that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) refused to approve thalidomide because of the lack of sufficient research.
In spite of its obligation to ensure public safety when authorizing new drugs, the Government of Canada authorized the marketing of thalidomide in our country based on the same informations that the American authorities did not find sufficient.
On December 2 1961, the drug was taken of the German and British markets, after several doctors brought up concerns as it appeared more and more plausible that thalidomide, when taken by pregnant women, was responsible for severe birth defects. Thought the Government of Canada was informed of these suspicions about the possible teratogenic effects of thalidomide, we had to wait until March 2 1962 for the Canadian authorities to react and, in their turn, withdraw thalidomide from the market.
People make mistakes. Science gets disproved. History repeats itself. Things change and evolve as humans learn more. We see this time and time again. I am not against vaccines at all. Despite the hostility and judgement and pressure surrounding this new RNA Vaccine for COVID-19 I do not want to get it now and I will fight for the freedoms of people everywhere for the next several years to be able to make that choice.
Firstly, am I creeping you? Possibly? Lol. Did some things with Richard Thompson in the past and I see you in and out in his posts. Had a look into you and damn you’re pretty interesting actually.
Why comment on this post? It’s a brave admission to make. I’ve had the shot, waiting for my second. Personally I approach these things with a certain sense of fatalism. I took things in the military and there’s rumours of people getting sick now 20-30 years later. Yanks call it Gulf War syndrome because of unproven links to the vaccines for chemical warfare.
Will I take my second shot? Yes. Doesn’t mean I’m confident in the science or worried about the possibility of a side effect down the line. I just see how the future is shaping up and for me to function in it I will need a card to continue. I chose papers over an invisible star I would have to wear. I haven’t survived cancer like you, I have had to adapt constantly after being told you cannot because [insert here].
I understand what you are saying and I applaud your tenacity. Much like you stood up for yourself wanting firearms training. I liked how you stood your ground. It’s a rare thing to stand with your convictions when it’s unpopular, Grey is attacked more fiercely than black or white.
So, when feeling alone sometimes it’s easier to know we are noticed unawares. Stay true to yourself and you’ll never feel the shame of surrendering you. You have made me smile with your choices.
I am learning that anyone who has spent time with Richard is pretty interesting. Takes a weird to know a weirdo. Grey is the hardest space to be right now. Becuase I am incorrectly labeled. As I mentioned in another commnet – none of us will ever know the truth. We have to live with the choices we made before we go to bed at night… I am glad that I made you smile.
I agree with much of what you have said. I’m also not a big fan of the sacrosanct position of science, medicine and big pharma. You mentioned thalidomide but the more current opioid epidemic and it’s direct connection to so many of the much valued institutions that refuse to accept deserved criticism, is disturbing.
I’ve received both vaccine injections now and hope there are no long-term effects except to quicken a safer onset of global immunity without more death. There will be variants and hopefully the vaccinations will reduce fatalities in those cases too. All that said, who knows anything for sure. I respect your point of view and had many of those thoughts myself. I guess time will tell.
I appriciate these words. Thank you for sharing your opinons and not attcking me for mine. But you nailed – none of us will know for sure, will we? THANKS AGAIN!
My husband and I, nor our adult children have taken the vaccines and do not intend to. We made this decision due to same questions that you have. We have done a lot of research on these vaccines and nothing we have found has changed our minds. In fact, the information we have come across on independent media sites has made us very glad we haven’t followed all the people jumping for joy over being vaccinated. In a few months, years they will be wishing they had not. Main stream media are telling us what they have been told to tell us and are being paid to tell us. Fear mongering at its finest. You are not alone Lacey.
I agree with you on a lot of this. THANK YOU. Knowing that I am not alone gives me strength to keep speaking out.
You are completely in your right to exercise your informed consent. I’ve weighted the risks and also decided that the injection is not for me, nor for my dependants.
In fact I’ve had my share of vaccines and so have my children. But now that I’ve looked more closely into vaccines, I have become an anti-vaxer. I used to go along with the story the doctors told me, but now that their lies are so blatantly, I had to question everything. And found more than I expected.
I also exercise my right on refusing the mask on medical grounds. Overwhelming evidence shows that it really does nothing for viruses, so you’re not a bad person for not wearing one. And yes, it is bad for your health to do wear it.
I’m just glad that the journalist in you keeps asking questions. Fight on!
Thank you. Knowing that I am not alone in my questions and my beliefs gives me strength to keep asking.
